The Ram 3500 has the best resale value in the industry — that’s according to J.D. Power’s 2018 Resale Value Awards.
Lexus also earned high marks during the company's annual awards, earning five model-level awards this year, the most out of all brands.
Honda and Toyota tied for second-most segment level awards, as both brands earned four model-level awards each.
Two segments that have seen somewhat of a resurgence, in terms of wholesale value, this year have been compact cars, and to a lesser extent, mid-size cars. In these segments, the Honda Civic and Honda Accord earned top honors, respectively.
Luxury wholesale values have struggled, and have faced steeper depreciation this year. In two of these segments, compact luxury and mid-size luxury, Lexus took top honors. While the luxury segment is seeing higher depreciation this year, Lexus vehicles seem to be holding their values the best within these segments, according to J.D. Power.
Pickup values have continued to hold strong this year. In the mid-size pickup segment, the Toyota Tacoma had the highest resale value, according to J.D. Power. In the large light-duty pickup segment, Toyota once again claims the highest resale value with its Tundra pickup.
In the large heavy-duty pickup segment, however, the Ram 3500 came out on top. The Ram 3500 was also the overall winner for best resale value in 2018.
