Editor’s Note: Looking to give back while fueling up? Check out the 2025 update: Shell’s Giving Pump Returns with Easy Way for Fleets to Give Back

Fleet managers and drivers, here's a simple and impactful way to make a difference in your local communities. As you already know, filling up is a regular part of your day-to-day operations, and now it can be more than just a routine, it's an opportunity to give back.

Shell is bringing back The Giving Pump, a charitable initiative that allows customers to support nonprofits simply by filling up at a designated pump. Now in its fourth year, this program runs through October 31 and includes nearly 7,500 Shell stations nationwide. For fleets, this is a unique chance to make your fuel stops count even more.

"The Giving Pump is an easy and impactful way for customers to give back through the simple act of filling up their vehicles, and we look forward to highlighting the many organizations whose mission is to aid children and families in their communities," said Barbara Stoyko, Senior Vice President, Mobility Americas at Shell. "Each year, it has been uplifting to see the commitment from customers and stations to support nonprofits that have a positive effect on the lives they serve. Please consider choosing the 'purple pump' to pay it forward during your next fuel stop."

Here's how it works: You'll find a specially marked purple pump at participating Shell stations. Every time a driver fills up using The Giving Pump, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to local children's and family-focused charities, including children's hospitals, literacy programs, youth food pantries, and more—at no additional cost to the customer.

Why should fleets get involved? Fleet drivers are on the road more often and fill up far more frequently than the average driver. By simply choosing The Giving Pump, your fleet can help raise significant funds for organizations in your service areas dedicated to supporting those in need. With 552 local and national charities benefiting from this campaign—including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Boys & Girls Clubs, your participation helps make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families across the country.

In 2023 alone, The Giving Pump was used more than 7.3 million times, providing vital support to communities in 47 states. Imagine the impact if your fleet made a point to fuel up at a purple pump during this two-month campaign.
