National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW) is coming September 15-21, 2024, and it's our chance to say a big "thank you" to the 3.6 million professional truck drivers who tirelessly deliver the goods and resources that power our daily lives.

Since 1988, the American Trucking Associations (ATA) has led this nationwide celebration, reminding us of truck drivers' vital role in our communities. It's more than just a job; it's a commitment to ensuring that everything from the food on our tables to the medicines we need, and even the heavy-duty equipment on job sites, reaches its destination on time.

The same dedication and long hours on the road apply for light- and medium-duty truck drivers. These drivers are the unsung heroes of last-mile delivery, construction sites, and countless other industries. 

5 Ways to Show Your Fleet Truck Driver's Appreciation

So, how can we show our appreciation? Here are a few simple but impactful ways:

1. A Handwritten Thank You: A handwritten note can go a long way in a world dominated by digital communication. Whether you leave a quick "thank you" card in the cab or a personalized note, this small gesture can make a big impact.

2. Driver Perks: Consider offering some perks during NTDAW. These perks could be as simple as providing a free meal, snacks for the road, or even a gift card to a favorite restaurant or store. These perks show appreciation and give a little extra comfort during long hauls.

3. Recognition and Awards: Take the time to publicly recognize your drivers' hard work. Florida Trucking Association (FTA) is proud to celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, encouraging Floridians to participate in National Truck Driver Appreciation Week:

• Thank a truck driver in person or on social media (tagging FTA and using #ThankATrucker),

• recognize trucking companies in their area for community contributions,

• practicing safe driving around large trucks, helping to ensure we all get home safely to our families.

And Women in Trucking is supporting the women truck drivers on the road.
