June Diesel Trends Update
The national average price of a gallon of diesel has dropped again, this week by more than 16 cents. All five regions reported lower average prices, ranging from almost 13 cents to more than 28 cents cheaper than a week ago.
The average price of a gallon of diesel dropped by more than 16 cents this week, bringing the national average to under $4.70 per gallon.

The national average price of a gallon of on-highway diesel remains below $5, and prices continue to trend lower. This week, the national average price dropped by more than 16 cents.
The national average price of a gallon of on-highway diesel was $4.67 as reported on June 29 by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The weekly report also provides a year-over-year pricing comparison, showing the national average is now 94.1 cents higher than in 2025 and 85.5 cents higher than the same time in 2024.
This week, average prices decreased across all five regions.
The regional price average decreases ranged from 12.8 cents in the East Coast region to more than 28 cents in the West Coast region. All regions’ averages are now below $5, except for the West Coast, which was reported at $5.52 on Monday.
The most expensive place to buy diesel is Hawaii, at $6.99 per gallon, and the least costly is Oklahoma, at $4.11 per gallon.

Regional Diesel Prices: 4th Week of June
The average price of a gallon of diesel dropped by more than 22 cents this week, bringing the national average back below $5 per gallon.

The national average price of a gallon of diesel dropped by 15 cents this week, following a 14-cent decrease last week.

Will Fuel Prices Keep Going Down?
At the end of May, AAA reported crude oil prices had been dropping as a result of peace talks with Iran. However, the same report noted that the situation could be fragile and oil prices could spike again, thereby driving up the price of diesel and gasoline.
