ASE Aligns Automotive Service Professionals Month With Spring and Fall Vehicle Maintenance Campaigns
ASE will move Automotive Service Professionals Month to April and October beginning in 2026-2027, aligning recognition with Car Care Month events.

ASE plans to shift Automotive Service Professionals Month to April and October starting in 2026-2027, creating new opportunities to highlight the technicians who keep commercial and vocational vehicles road ready.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) announced plans to shift Automotive Service Professionals Month (ASPM) from June to April and October beginning in 2026-2027, aligning the observance with Spring and Fall Car Care Months.
ASE will continue to recognize ASPM this June before making the transition.
The organization said the change will better connect technician recognition efforts with established Car Care Month programs already taking place across the industry. During those seasonal campaigns, dealerships, repair facilities, and service centers host events focused on maintenance awareness, vehicle safety, and consumer education.
For work truck fleets that depend on vehicle uptime and reliability, ASE said the alignment creates additional opportunities to highlight the technicians responsible for maintaining increasingly sophisticated fleet assets.
“While we are still proud to recognize Automotive Service Professionals Month this June, moving ASPM to October and April allows us to more closely connect with Car Care Month activities already happening across the country,” said Dave Johnson, ASE president and CEO. “Many of the repair facilities that employ ASE Certified professionals already participate in these seasonal events, so aligning ASPM with them creates a natural opportunity to highlight the skill, training, and dedication of these technicians.”
Automotive service professionals play a critical role in keeping commercial vehicles safe, dependable and road ready. As vehicle technologies continue to advance, ASE-certified technicians are required to renew their certification every five years to demonstrate ongoing expertise and familiarity with emerging systems, diagnostics and industry best practices.
ASE Certification and the Blue Seal of Excellence help identify technicians who have met rigorous standards for knowledge and practical experience, giving fleet operators confidence that maintenance and repair work is performed by qualified professionals.
