Western Global, a provider of portable tanks and dispensing equipment for the storage and handling of fuels, lubricants, and other fluids, recently moved to a new production facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The new location significantly increases production capacity, with a focus on large tanks.
“We are always looking for ways to improve and optimize our production capabilities for our North American customers,” said Clem Connor, Western Global CEO. “With the growing demand for tanks across Canada and the U.S., we have invested in a larger footprint and new technology to increase production capacity and efficiency.”
Good Location & Foreign Trade Zone
The new facility is not far from Western Global’s previous facility in Winnipeg. It remains a convenient location, part of North America’s largest trimodal inland port and Foreign Trade Zone, for continued strategic distribution.
25% Larger Winnipeg Facility
In addition to being what Western Global called an optimal location, the 26,850-square-foot facility is also 25% bigger than the previous plant.
With 32,000 square feet of yard space, it is the largest Western Global location in North America. It was purposely designed to capitalize on the growth opportunity in large tanks.
Large tanks range from 2,000 to 19,000 gallons and are utilized for large-scale projects, including megaprojects and mining across the U.S. and Canada.
The updated facility, the company said, will allow customers to expect industry-leading lead times and availability of large tanks for fuel or other fluids.
Dedicated Training Space at New Facility
The facility has a new dedicated training space — the Centre of Excellence — built for technical and hands-on experience. The Centre expands Western Global’s capabilities to train employees and customers on various Western Global products.
“We always strive to be a better employer for our team and a better partner for our customers,” said Connor. “This new facility further strengthens our ability to deliver an improved level of service to our customers and deliver product when and where they need it.”
