The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) has selected the Ford F-150 as the Truck of Texas as part of the group's annual Truck Rodeo honoring 2015 model-year vehicles.
Other awards included the Ford Transit 250 as the Commercial Vehicle of Texas; the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab as Mid-size Pickup Truck of Texas; and the Jeep Grand Cherokee as SUV of Texas.

The association also gave awards to the Lincoln MKC as CUV of Texas; Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk as compact SUV; Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 as mid-size SUV; Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD as full-size SUV; and the Range Rover Evoque 5-Door as compact luxury SUV; Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit EcoDiesel 4x4 as mid-size luxury SUV; GMC Yukon Denali as full-size luxury SUV; and the Jeep Wrangler as off-road SUV.
Additional truck winners included the Ford F-150 King Ranch as full-size pickup; Ford F-150 Platinum as luxury pickup truck; Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn as heavy duty pickup truck; and Ram Power Wagon as off-road pickup truck.
The association also gave awards to the Honda CR-V Touring as compact crossover utility vehicle; the Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium as the mid-size CUV; the Kia Sedona SX as full-size CUV; and the Lincoln MKC as luxury CUV.
Other awards were given not to individual vehicles included Ford for Truck Line of Texas; Chrysler Group's Uconnect Access for best connectivity; Chrysler Group's 3.0L V-6 EcoDiesel engine for best powertrain; and the Ford F-150 King Ranch's high-strength military-grade aluminum body for best technology.
Prior to naming the winners, 60 auto writers drove 75 vehicles on and off road for two days (Oct. 9-10) at the Knibbe Ranch outside San Antonio.
