Morgan Thermal Ceramics Recieves Award from Akebono Brake Corp.
Morgan Thermal Ceramics recently received the "2010 Akebono Performance Excellence Award: Quality and Delivery" from Akebono Brake Corporation.
Morgan Thermal Ceramics recently received the "2010 Akebono Performance Excellence Award: Quality and Delivery" from Akebono Brake Corporation. Based in Kentucky, Akebono manufactures automotive brake friction materials and foundation brake assemblies for leading original equipment manufacturers. Morgan Thermal Ceramics has received this award 14 out of the last 15 years and last year achieved a 100 percent on time delivery record for the supply of ceramic engineered fibers for use in Akebono's ceramic brake pad formulations.
According to Rob Cyrus, Akebono's general manager for purchasing, Morgan Thermal Ceramics was selected out of a total of 265 suppliers to receive this award. The awards were given as part of Akebono's tradition of acknowledging superior supplier performance.
The plant's proximity to Akebono facilities ensures that necessary material is always available to meet Akebono's daily requirements. The processed engineered fibers, in both ceramic and Superwool® insulating fiber chemistries, have superior frictional characteristics ideal for use in ceramic brake pad formulations.
"We are pleased to be selected again for this honor," said Steve Siler, Morgan Thermal Ceramics market manager for transportation. "This accomplishment reflects our employees' dedication to ensuring on time delivery of quality products."
