The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has certified dedicated CNG versions of Ford's E-450, F-450, F-550, F-650, and F-59 equipped with the Westport WiNG Power System and 6.8L V-10 engine.
Each model is available with a gaseous prep package from the Ford factory. Westport expects certification from the California Air Resources Board on the vehicles soon, according to the company.
Westport, a partner in Ford's Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) program, now offers nine EPA-certified 2015-MY vehicles. Westport vehicles offer QVM products developed in conjunction with Ford, featuring original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality.
Westport trucks undergo the same safety testing required for OEM products and the Ford warranty remains intact, according to the company.
