Daimler Trucks Remarketing Names New President
Chris Backeberg steps up as president of Daimler Trucks Remarketing. With 20-plus years at Daimler Truck, he's set to drive SelecTrucks and used truck success.

Chris Backeberg brings over 20 years of experience with Daimler Truck, having held various roles in Sales and Marketing. He began his career with Daimler in 1998, working in a product role with the former Sterling brand.

Daimler Truck North America LLC (DTNA) announced the appointment of Chris Backeberg as president of Daimler Trucks Remarketing (DTR), effective January 6, 2025.
In his new role, Backeberg will oversee all aspects of DTNA's used truck operations, including the continued development of the SelecTrucks premium used truck brand and retail network, which includes both corporate-owned and dealer-licensed stores. This role is crucial for the overall success of Freightliner and Western Star market share and residual values.
His responsibilities will encompass strategic fleet deal involvement for used truck trade and residual commitments, risk portfolio management, inventory management, pricing, warranty, training, marketing, and a multi-channel sales strategy.
Backeberg brings over 20 years of experience with Daimler Truck, having held various roles in Sales and Marketing. He began his career with Daimler in 1998, working in a product role with the former Sterling brand. Throughout his tenure, Backeberg has held positions in field sales, marketing, and business excellence, working with nearly all of DTNA's products.
His most recent role was director of digital experience marketing, and prior to that, he served as director of national accounts. His extensive internal and external network of both on-highway and vocational customers will be invaluable as he navigates the challenges and opportunities of his new role.
