ASE Students Take Honors at 2024 SkillsUSA

Students from both high school and college ASE-certified programs placed during the recent 2024 SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta, Georgia. The ASE Education Foundation works with more than 2,300 automotive technology training programs and over 100,000 students nationally.

Students from ASE-accredited programs were among the champions at the recent SkillsUSA competition held recently in Atlanta, Georgia.

“It's truly gratifying to see how well students from ASE-accredited automotive, collision and truck/diesel programs performed in the recent SkillsUSA competition,” said Mike Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation. “These students have acquired skills essential for entering the workforce as entry-level technicians, highlighting them as the future of the industry. Congratulations to the students and the instructors who encouraged them to excel in their respective fields. We look forward hearing about their future accomplishments after they enter the workforce.”

The medalists from ASE-accredited schools were recognized at the 2024 SkillsUSA competition in the following categories:

Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair (High School)

  • A.J. Peters (Silver) – Manatee Tech College (Bradenton, Florida)

Automotive Refinishing Technology (High School)

  • Alec Windson (Silver) – Vanguard-Sentinel CTC-Sentinel Campus (Tiffin, Ohio)

Automotive Refinishing Technology (College)

  • Kayleigh Kerr (Gold) – Aims Community College-Windsor (Greeley, Colorado)

  • Aleah Sauder (Silver) – Waubonsee Community College (Sugar Grove, Illinois)

The ASE Education Foundation works with more than 2,300 automotive technology training programs and over 100,000 students nationally to provide the transportation industry a viable workforce through standards and credentials for institutions, organizations and individuals. The Foundation also offers career development and workplace exposure for aspiring technicians.
