Ram Trucks began shipping Ram 1500 EcoDiesel trucks to U.S. dealers from the Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Michigan on Wednesday.
Following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's certification of 28 miles per gallon highway, Ram Truck received more than 8,000 orders for the truck.

The new, 24-valve, dual-overhead-cam (DOHC) EcoDiesel is a turbocharged 60-degree V-6. It generates 240 hp at 3,600 rpm and produces 420 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,000 rpm
The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is enabled for 9,200 pounds of towing capacity, according to the manufacturer.
