Midway Specialty Vehicles, a supplier to various commercial and specialty vehicle industries since 1980, has been providing Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner dealers products from its South Carolina headquarters through its strategic partnership alliance with the OEM for 10 continuous years. According to Midway, each year has experienced increased sales volume for the company and increased job opportunities for the local economy.
In addition, Michael Violi, president of Midway Specialty Vehicles, LLC, announced that the company has completed another exceptional year at its manufacturing facility in Ladson, S.C. With facilities in Ladson, S.C., and Elkhart, Ind., Midway designs and installs commercial and other specialty interiors in several OEM vehicle models, including Sprinter Vans. The Ladson facility converts only Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner Sprinter Vehicles from Daimler Vans Manufacturing. In 2012, the Midway and Daimler partnership culminated with Midway converting in excess of 35 percent of the production of the Sprinter Vans reassembled by Daimler Vans Manufacturing, LLC.
Midway supports Daimler Vans by installing specific interiors for their mutual customers such as FedEx, Pepsico, UPS, Aramark, Cintas, PPG, Red Cross, Culligan, etc., and returning the vehicles back to Daimler for Ship-Thru to the customer. The interior designs are developed by Midway after consultation with Daimler Vans and their joint customers. With the large quantity of Sprinter Vans that were completed and delivered, 2012 was a very busy year as can be expected. The company said that it is proud of its local S.C. workers that professionally completed the various contracts not only on time, but several months ahead of schedule.
