At this year’s NAFA Institute & Expo in Long Beach, California, the 2025 Media Day put the spotlight on some of the biggest moves happening across the fleet industry. Ten companies rolled out announcements focused on smarter technology, better data, safer fleets, and new solutions for fleet managers.
Here’s a quick rundown of the highlights:
RoadFlex and E.J. Ward Launch New Fuel Management Integration
RoadFlex and E.J. Ward Inc. announced a new partnership aimed at simplifying fleet fuel management. By integrating RoadFlex’s advanced fuel card data into SimplyFuel Solutions' platform, fleet managers can now see all fuel transactions (retail and on-site) in a single dashboard.
This approach improves real-time visibility, enhances transaction control before purchases happen, and tackles fraud prevention through tools like location verification and vehicle fuel data tracking. Fleets are pushing to combine multiple cards into one and simplify reconciliation to reduce fuel shrinkage and fraud.
Bluedot Expands Charging Access for Fleets
Bluedot introduced its Shared Private Chargers solution, giving fleets access to private depot chargers without needing new infrastructure. Through a network of underutilized charging stations, fleets can find and book chargers where their vehicles already park.
Bluedot’s platform also aims to boost uptime and streamline fleet electrification, while offering enhanced infrastructure visibility for both fleets and public-sector agencies.
Fleetio Debuts Advanced Analytics
Fleetio previewed Advanced Analytics, a new reporting and insights tool designed to unify fleet data from multiple sources into one interactive dashboard. The platform helps fleets optimize performance, create custom reports, and make smarter, data-driven decisions.
Every fleet uses different datasets, and Fleetio’s new system focuses on giving users full data visibility to improve operational strategies.
NETS Highlights the True Costs of Crashes
The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) shared updates to its Cost of Motor Vehicle Crashes to Employers report and its crash cost calculator, both releasing this October. Everyday business costs are rising, and that's just as true for fleet safety.
About 20% of fleet vehicles are involved in an accident each year. NETS' updated resources will show the real financial impact of crashes, broken down by industry, and reinforce the importance of continuing driver safety conversations.
Connex2X Partners with SoundHound for Hands-Free Driver Services
Connex2X announced its collaboration with SoundHound AI, combining mobile commerce with voice-activated technology. Drivers can now place food orders, make payments, and navigate to pick-up spots completely hands-free. It's part of Connex2X's larger effort to increase driver retention and improve life on the road through the NEXi platform, billed as the "intelligent fleet copilot."
Connex2X focuses on enhancing fleets without OEM-specific limitations.
Chevin Fleet Solutions Breaks Down Data Bottlenecks
Chevin Fleet Solutions introduced Smart Integrate for its FleetWave platform, a new tool that helps fleet managers quickly build custom API integrations with a visual interface.
With data often siloed or bottlenecked, Chevin’s goal is to give users full control over their data flow in real time, helping fleets future-proof their management systems and improve decision-making speed.
Slate Unveils Modular Electric Vehicle Platform
Slate, a new American automaker founded in 2022, rolled out a customizable electric truck platform designed to keep costs down while offering flexibility. Vehicles are produced at the factory ready for wrapping, with fewer built-in variants to simplify ordering and reduce prices.
Production is expected to start in late 2026, giving fleets a new U.S.-built EV option designed to adapt over time.
Purpose Auto Modernizes Tech Training
Purpose Auto launched its Virtual Reality Automotive Repair Mechanic Training Courses and Hiring Gauge to help modernize technician education. With more than 40 schools already interested, the program helps future techs earn ASE certification as early as 16 years old.
Purpose Auto’s goal is to close the skills gap and create a stronger pipeline of mechanics starting today.
Queclink Brings AI to Telematics
Queclink introduced a next-generation, AI-powered telematics solution designed to move beyond pre-programmed triggers. Using cognitive AI and machine learning, the platform provides faster, actionable insights, predicts vehicle failures, and improves driver performance.
The focus is on helping fleets operate more efficiently and safely with real-time data.
IntelliShift and Netradyne Partner to Boost Safety
IntelliShift announced the integration of Netradyne’s AI-powered Driver•i cameras into its fleet platform. By combining intelligent video and safety insights with fleet operations management, IntelliShift is helping fleets cut risk, streamline technology stacks, and better protect drivers.
