SoCalGas Supports STEM Education with $100,000 Scholarship Donation: Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) announced a $100,000 donation to the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) Education Fund & Foundation for STEM scholarships. The announcement came during GLAAACC's 28th Annual Economic Awards Dinner. Hudson High School Creates Art for Fleet Response HQ: Fleet Response announced its partnership with Hudson High School and four of their students to create canvases to display in the newly-built office space. Julie Mawaka, Fleet Response representative, reached out to the high school’s art teacher, Carolyn Huber, about the opportunity for her students to create art for the company’s new office space. New Bendix Headquarters Building Achieves LEED Silver Certification: In November 2021, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC (Bendix) opened its new North American headquarters building, a light-filled gem of a structure set on a leafy-green, 56-acre campus in Avon, Ohio. To add to the list of milestone achievements, Bendix has now been awarded LEED Silver certification for the new Avon facility.   6. Toyota Teams Up for the Bees: Pollinators put food on our tables. One out of every three bites we eat comes to us courtesy of pollinators such as bees, butterflies, moths, flower flies, beetles and bats. Toyota donated $400,000 to the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) and the Pollinator Partnership (P2) that will be used to enhance 26,000 acres of pollinator habitat across North America over the next five years.
