Shades of Fleet Call for Voices: Fleet's Hidden Heroes
Fleet’s hidden heroes are often the ones keeping everything moving behind the scenes. September’s *Shades of Fleet* is looking for dispatchers, coordinators, parts specialists, and other support pros to share their stories.

September’s Shades of Fleet celebrates the hidden heroes working behind the scenes, from dispatchers and coordinators to parts specialists and support professionals who keep fleet operations moving.

Some of the most important people in fleet are also the most overlooked. September’s Shades of Fleet celebrates the Hidden Heroes behind fleet operations, the dispatchers, parts specialists, coordinators, schedulers, administrators, and support professionals who keep vehicles moving, technicians supplied, drivers informed, customers taken care of, and about a hundred moving pieces from colliding at once.
Work Truck is continuing its monthly video interview series, Shades of Fleet, highlighting the people who keep the fleet industry moving every day. This month is about the work that often happens behind the scenes. It is answering the phone when a vehicle goes down. Finding the part nobody else can find. Reworking a schedule when the plan falls apart at 8:02 a.m. Connecting drivers, technicians, vendors, managers, and customers who all need something different and usually need it now.
It is also about the knowledge these professionals build along the way. They know which vendor to call, which technician has seen that problem before, which vehicle absolutely has to be back on the road today, and sometimes which problem is coming before anyone else realizes there is one.
A lot of this work is invisible when everything goes right. September is our chance to make it a little more visible.
How Do You Participate in Shades of Fleet?
Participants will record a short video interview using guided prompts and a simple recording link. No special setup required. Can’t access the link? Email Lauren.Fletcher@bobit.com.
Dispatchers, parts specialists, fleet coordinators, schedulers, administrators, service coordinators, shop support professionals, and others working behind the scenes across fleet operations are invited to participate.
Know someone who seems to know where everything is, who to call, or how to fix the problem before the rest of the team even knows there is one? Send this their way. This is their episode.
Record your responses here by September 18!
