Clarience Technologies, a worldwide supplier of technology solutions for improving visibility and safety in transportation, has recently acquired Safe Fleet, a company that offers safety solutions for fleet vehicles.
According to a company statement, this strategic acquisition "strengthens Clarience's commitment to enabling complete visibility in transportation by providing advanced technologies that enhance safety, security, and productivity for customers across the industry."
Safe Fleet delivers smart safety solutions that help save lives, prevent injuries, and make fleet operators more productive.
When asked what this means for Safe Fleet, Work Truck was assured the Safe Fleet name will not change; it will simply become “a Clarience Technologies company” and will be one of four business segments within the company.
"Safe Fleet will work in close collaboration with the other Clarience Technologies companies to accelerate product development, leverage combined scale and capitalize on joint commercial opportunities as they arise," said Mark Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer of Clarience Technologies.
Johnson added, "As a Clarience Technologies company, Safe Fleet will continue to support customers as they’ve always done – nothing changes under new ownership. Long term, we see the opportunity to offer more comprehensive fleet safety solutions that connect complementary products and technologies offered by several Clarience Technologies companies, which will lead to a simpler, more integrated product experience. "
The Safe Fleet product portfolio includes technology-enabled solutions for:
Fleet video and evidence management.
Collision prevention.
Violation detection.
Trailer temperature control.
Cargo storage systems.
Several other safety solutions.
"Safe Fleet employees, customers and partners will benefit from becoming a part of Clarience Technologies," said John Knox, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Safe Fleet. "We look forward to joining their team of companies where together we will expand global reach, accelerate innovation, unlock new benefits for customers, and strengthen our safety mission."
Safe Fleet's fleet video technology has more than 1.5 million video systems deployed to date. Its integrated safety platform serves fleets of every type, including:

"Clarience Technologies and Safe Fleet share a common mission of making transportation safer and smarter through technology," said Brian Kupchella, Chief Executive Officer of Clarience Technologies. "The acquisition of Safe Fleet provides our company with critical technologies, deep vocational segment expertise, and a portfolio of powerful and complementary safety products that support our vision to provide comprehensive solutions to a broader set of transportation customers around the world."
