November Diesel Trends Update
The national average price of a gallon of diesel decreased this week, down 3.7 cents. Four of the five regions also experienced decreases.

After several weeks of increases, the national average price of diesel fuel decreased by nearly 4 cents this week. Most regions also experienced lower prices.

According to the most recent report by the U.S. Energy Administration (EIA), the national average cost of diesel fuel at the start of this week decreased by 3.7 cents from the previous week, and four of the five regions also reported lower prices.
The national average price per gallon of diesel fuel in the U.S., as reported Nov. 17, 2025, was $3.83 per gallon, but is 29.2 cents higher than it was at the same time last year.
This week, regional average prices decreased in four regions. The regional price average decreases ranged from 3 cents in the Gulf Coast region to 9 cents in the Rocky Mountain region. The East Coast was the only region to report an increase, less than 1 cent. All regions averaged higher prices than in the same period last year. The West Coast has the most significant difference, 33.7 cents higher than this time last year.
The most expensive place to buy diesel is Hawaii, at $5.21 per gallon, and the least costly is Texas, at $3.29 per gallon.
