More than 1,000 Travel Plazas Equipped with Gilbarco DEF Dispensers

More than 1,000 travel plazas in the United States and Canada are now equipped with Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s bulk, on-island, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispensers. These DEF dispensers provide a single fueling position with both diesel and DEF, which improves productivity and convenience for drivers, and increases site throughput.
“Achieving this milestone of more than 1,000 bulk DEF locations shows the industry’s commitment and establishes that travel plazas and drivers value the convenience of filling their DEF tanks from the same fueling position, anywhere on the island,” said Chad Johnson, marketing director for Gilbarco Veeder-Root. “Retailers that invest in Gilbarco’s DEF dispenser have seen increased traffic and fewer forecourt delays."
With more than 75% of trucks on the road by 2015 requiring DEF, the demand for DEF dispensers is only predicted to grow.
Gilbarco’s DEF dispenser features the familiar Encore interface. No below grade access is required, and it is easy to use with above ground tanks. DEF can easily be added to an existing Encore Ultra-Hi dispenser with a retrofit kit. As with all Encore dispensers, the Gilbarco DEF dispenser works seamlessly with existing point-of-sale systems.
DEF is an emissions control liquid required by modern diesel engines.
