SEATTLE – Grakon, LLC announced that it has once again received PACCAR, Inc.’s “50 PPM” Quality Achievement Award.
SEATTLE – Grakon, LLC announced that it has once again received PACCAR, Inc.’s “50 PPM” Quality Achievement Award. Rick Ryland, PACCAR Senior Director of Global Supplier Quality, and Collene Brown, PACCAR Supplier Quality Manager, presented the award at Grakon’s Seattle global headquarters and North American distribution center. PPM is defined in the industry as “Parts Per Million” defective out of all parts shipped to the customer. Grakon has earned the award every year since PACCAR initiated the award in 2007.
According to Grakon President & CEO, Dave Paborsky, “Grakon has been doing business with PACCAR for over 33 years. Great suppliers are usually connected to great customers. PACCAR is known as one of the toughest customers in the industry. Unlike cars, the trucks PACCAR makes are used commercially, sometimes almost 24 hours a day. The pride of achieving this award again will be felt by all the people at our facilities world-wide.”
When asked why this award means so much to Grakon, Don Bartlett, Director of Quality and Customer Service at Grakon, replied, “PACCAR has always done a great job setting the bar high with their suppliers. They’re a tough customer and it’s the tough customers that often drive you to get better. We knew the new target was going to be set at 50 as early as 2005 and we worked very hard on our processes throughout the company in order to assure our quality meets that target day after day. Our own target is zero defects and zero warranty for all customers world-wide.”
Grakon is designs and develops of advanced lighting systems and engineered trim components for OEM vehicle manufacturers.
