AKRON, OHIO - Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems LLC subsidiary announced plans to rebrand the its on-highway, truck stop network.
Wingfoot operates 31 on-highway commercial truck servicing locations adjacent to Pilot Travel Centers. The outlets, known as Pilot Truck Care Centers, will be changed to Wingfoot Truck Care Centers.
Along with the name change, Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems has plans to build 10 new locations in 2010 to increase its on-highway network to 41.
"In addition to offering a full line of products under the Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly tire brands, Wingfoot Truck Care Centers have Tire Industry Association-trained and Automotive Service Excellence-certified technicians, and offer a full line of services, such as air conditioning checks/repairs, driveline and suspension inspections, and brake and air system repair," says Mark Totten, Wingfoot's vice president of marketing. "We also work on exhaust systems and wiring, plus we can conduct DOT inspections."
All locations under the Wingfoot brand umbrella are part of Goodyear's fleetHQ servicing network.
Through fleetHQ, Wingfoot participating owner-operators and fleets can purchase tires, retreads and road service at the same price as they negotiated with their local Wingfoot location.
"By calling fleetHQ, our customer's location is immediately mapped, and a local fleetHQ location will respond to the call," says Totten.
Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems is the largest commercial tire distributor and retreader, and is ranked number one on Modern Tire Dealer's "Top 100 Retreaders" list (see MTD's April issue for more details).
