Gilbarco Veeder-Root, Shell Oil Products US, and Motiva Enterprises LLC (Shell) have signed an agreement to allow Gilbarco to provide an exclusive Passport Service Offering (PSO) Plus Service to thousands of Shell-branded stations in the U.S. utilizing Passport systems. The agreement gives Shell-branded wholesalers access to the latest Passport service packs, new software versions to maintain PCI PA-DSS compliance, including the latest network loyalty functionality and help desk support. This support helps ensure sites are able to continue serving customers with the highest level of service.
“This agreement with Gilbarco Veeder-Root provides a great tool for our Shell-branded wholesalers,” said Walt Gothard, Shell Technology Manager North America. “It will allow them to have access to the latest software functionality and enhanced support through Gilbarco – all at a great value by leveraging the scale of the Shell network.”
“The Gilbarco team is pleased to work with Shell to provide PSO Plus Service to all participating Passport locations,” said Mike Schulte, President of Gilbarco Veeder-Root North America. “Our Plus Service will provide Shell-branded Passport customers with the latest software updates for superior system performance and remote diagnostics for maximum system uptime.”
Under the Passport Plus Service Program Shell will manage the invoicing process via monthly EFT draft, which means that branded wholesalers won’t have to prepay for a full year of service. They also have a dedicated toll-free number to the Gilbarco Help Desk 24x7x365 for exceptional service levels. Plus Service includes remote diagnostics and fix, to reduce the need for a technician visit, saving the wholesaler additional service costs. Gilbarco and Shell will also review help desk metrics monthly and look for ways to continually raise the bar for service and wholesaler satisfaction.
Gilbarco’s Passport Point of Sale system provides a highly intuitive touch screen interface that minimizes training time, errors and shrinkage. Wholesalers realize unique benefits for managing and growing their business, including flexible fuel and merchandise discounting, loyalty programs, and seamless connectivity to support the largest third-party partner program in the industry, including the industry’s most comprehensive list of back office and loyalty partners.
