Farmers Insurance joined the Red Cross Disaster Responder Program to help support emergency response and recovery during disasters nationwide.
Farmers Insurance has joined the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program through a $250,000 contribution to strengthen disaster response and recovery operations across the United States.
The funding supports Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts and will help provide financial assistance to people affected by disasters, including floods, wildfires, severe storms, and extreme heat events.
The Red Cross said it responds to more than 60,000 disasters annually, with demand growing as severe weather events become more frequent nationwide.
Disaster Recovery Needs Continue to Increase
According to the Red Cross, financial assistance helps survivors address immediate and long-term recovery expenses, including transportation, clothing, and home repairs.
The organization said it distributed nearly 60% more financial assistance last year than in the previous five years, as it expanded support for survivors both immediately after disasters and throughout the recovery process.
“Increasing severe weather events mean that families are relying on the Red Cross now more than ever,” said Anne McKeough, chief development officer at the American Red Cross.
Longstanding Partnership Supports Relief Efforts
Farmers Insurance has supported the Red Cross for decades through donations, volunteer service, and employee blood drives. The company said it has contributed millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours over the last 30 years.
“At Farmers, we take great pride in supporting the Red Cross through disaster relief, blood drives, and volunteer service,” said Courtney Vandermause, director of corporate citizenship for Farmers Insurance.
In addition to financial support, Farmers hosts blood drives for employees to help support the Red Cross blood supply network, which provides about 40% of the nation’s blood supply.
