Work Truck Wants to Know: June 2024
We asked about maintenance check frequency, alternative-fuel interest, challenges in fleet management, and maintenance frequency this month. Check out the results!
Maintenance Checks: When asked how often they conduct regular maintenance checks on their fleet vehicles, respondents were evenly split between conducting checks weekly and monthly, each garnering 50% of the votes. This indicates a balanced approach to maintenance frequency, with some managers opting for more frequent checks while others find monthly checks sufficient.
Alternative Fuels: The poll on alternative fuels revealed a strong interest in electric vehicles, with 61% of respondents indicating they are most interested in integrating electric fuel into their fleets. Natural gas and propane autogas followed with 22% and 17%, respectively. Hydrogen fuel received no votes, suggesting it is currently the least favored option among fleet managers.
Challenges in Fleet Management: Regulatory compliance emerged as the most challenging aspect of fleet management, with 35% of the votes. Driver recruitment and retention came in second at 29%, followed by fleet maintenance and fuel management, each receiving 18% of the votes. This highlights the significant regulatory pressures fleet managers face in their operations.
Maintenance Frequency: The poll on maintenance frequency showed a similar pattern to the first maintenance-related poll, with respondents indicating that they perform maintenance checks either weekly or monthly. This consistency underscores the importance fleet managers place on regular vehicle upkeep to ensure optimal performance and safety.
