Diesel Average Ends 2024 at $3.50
This week, the average price of diesel fuel increased in all five regions, and the national average price jumped by nearly 2 cents. Overall, the national average is 37 cents cheaper than a year ago.

This week, the average diesel price increased nationally and in all five regions.
According to the most recent report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the national average cost of diesel fuel for fleets increased this week, and all five regions reported higher averages.
The national average price of diesel fuel in the U.S. per gallon increased by nearly 3 cents as of Dec. 30, 2024. The average price of $3.50 is 37 cents cheaper than at the same time last year.
Regional average prices increased this week in all regions. The price increases ranged from just under 2 cents in the East Coast to more than 4 cents in the Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions.
The most expensive place to buy diesel is Hawaii, at $5.27 per gallon, and the least costly is Oklahoma, at $2.98 per gallon.

This week, the average price of diesel fuel decreased in all five regions, and the national average price dropped by more than 8 cents. Overall, the national average is 53 cents cheaper than a year ago.

At the start of the third week of November 2024, the average diesel prices, as of Nov. 25, reported by region were:
East Coast: $3.59
Midwest: $3.53
Gulf Coast: $3.20
Rocky Mountain: $3.45
West Coast: $4.18
AAA: Gas Demand Dips
Gasoline demand fell from 9.38 million b/d in late November week to 8.41. At the same time, total domestic gasoline stocks rose slightly from 206.9 million barrels to 208.9, while gasoline production decreased, averaging 9.3 million barrels daily.
