PORTLAND, OR –
Daimler Trucks North America LLC has recognized 43 North American manufacturers
from the United States, Canada, and Mexico as recipients of Daimler
Trucks North America’s Masters of Quality supplier quality award for 2007. The
suppliers provide components for Freightliner,
Sterling, and Western Star truck brands.
The 21-year-old Masters of Quality program recognizes suppliers who meet or exceed Daimler Trucks North America’s stringent quality standards and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving the quality of their products. The Masters of Quality award is the highest recognition that Daimler Trucks North America LLC gives to its suppliers.
Twenty-one manufacturers received the award for the first time. Since its introduction in 1987, no supplier has won a Masters of Quality award every year of the program.
Topping
the list this year was Consolidated MetCo Inc. and its wheel hub plant in Monroe, N.C. The ConMet facility is the first supplier to win the award for 18 out of 21
years. Also notable was Paramount Manufacturing Inc. of Tualatin, Ore.,
winning the award for the seventeenth time. Paramount
supplies mattresses for the sleeper units in Freightliner and
Sterling trucks.
