Cadillac CTS-V Named 2010 Car of Texas

FORT WORTH, TX - General Motors announced the Cadillac CTS-V has been named the 2010 Car of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association after topping the competition at the group's Spring Challenge last week.
The event pitted the newest models in the U.S. market against each other in a series of test drives at Texas Motor Speedway. About 40 auto writers participated in this year's event and voted on their favorite cars in a variety of categories.
The CTS-V earned the highest honor with its selection as "Writers' Choice - The Car of Texas." It was the second time CTS-V received the award. The CTS-V also won the Car of Texas distinction in 2004, according to GM.
"The Cadillac CTS-V is the car that most epitomizes the state of Texas," said Michael Herzing, president of the Texas Auto Writers Association and publisher of LetsTalkWheels.com.
CTS-V, a high-performance version of the CTS Sedan, has pushed the Cadillac experience to a new level since its introduction in 2004. The most recent model has a 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine rated at 556 horsepower.
The CTS-V features high-performance Brembo brakes, specially designed Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires and Magnet Ride Control technology. The V-Series will be extended later this year with the CTS-V Sport Wagon and CTS-V Coupe.
