Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction and Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction continue their August summer tradition, bringing customers together for two days of auction action and an evening of music under the stars at Brasher’s Backstage 2014.

Back-to-back sales at Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction on Wednesday, August 6 and at Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction on Thursday, August 7 will include a combined total of more than 2,000, trucks, SUVs, and RVs from the auctions’ fleet and finance partners as well as new and used car dealers from throughout the region. The two-day event will be capped by an outdoor concert featuring Sara Bareilles at McMenamin’s Edgefield Amphitheater, which is adjacent to Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction.

Jerry Hinton, general manager at Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction explains that Brasher’s Backstage kicks off at 9:00 am in Eugene at Brasher’s Northwest Auto Auction, where 600 vehicles will cross the block.  Following the sale, customers will make their way north to Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction for a 3:00 pm pre-concert auction featuring 100 credit union and finance vehicles, Brasher’s Backstage dinner buffet, and a signed memorabilia charity auction benefiting Katie’s Kause and Cystic Fibrosis.

Following the dinner and raffle at Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction, customers and auction staff head to nearby Edgefield Amphitheater, gathering to enjoy a summer evening on the lawn and a concert by singer, song-writer and pianist Sara Bareilles.  Hinton notes that Bareilles hit the American music scene in 2007 with the hit single Love Song, which reached number four on the Billboard Pop 100 chart, and has since sold over one million records and has been nominated for a Grammy Award five times. Other crowd pleasers by the songstress include Gravity, Brave, King of Anything, Breathe Again and Gonna Get Over You.

Customers return to Brasher’s Portland Auto Auction on Thursday, August 7 at 9:00 for the main event, where the auction expects more than 1,500 vehicles to cross the auction block.

Hinton notes that consignment fees are waived during Brasher’s Backstage, and discounted 60-day floats are available for qualified dealers on every vehicle purchased.  In addition, the auction is offering free local drive-in service on every vehicle consigned the week of the sale, Concert event promotions will be held in every lane, dealers will earn double Rewards Points on all auction activity, and customers will receive complimentary concert blankets.  All buyers and sellers qualify for drawing for seven Brasher’s Backstage guitars at the conclusion of the event, one of which has been signed by Carlos Santana.

Reservations are being taken at both auctions for the dinner and concert, says Hinton.  He urges customers to contact the auctions early, as seating is limited.

Brasher’s Backstage 2014 is the third annual event, following last year’s event highlighted by the Steve Miller Band, and Barefoot in Bluegrass in 2012, a star-studded country concert, headlined by Emmylou Harris and Steve Martin.

Brasher's Northwest Auto Auction and Portland Auto Auction are members of ServNet, a premier group of independent auto auctions from across the United States. The auctions also participate in Auction Edge, where customers may view detailed condition reports, market report information and participate in online sales.
