LOS ALTOS, CA - Baytech Corporation obtained model-year 2010 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) emissions certifications for Baytech's dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) fueled General Motors full-size vans and pickups. The vans are certified to Nationwide Bin 5 standards, including 0.07 g/mi NOx which is 30-percent lower than the California SULEV NOx standard. The pickups are certified to California SULEV standards. The CNG vehicles have Full CARB OBD II approval.
Baytech's new dedicated CNG vehicle certifications include 2010 Chevrolet Express/GMC Savanna 2500 and 3500 passenger and cargo vans, and 2010 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups with 2WD or 4WD, all with 6.0L engines. The vehicles qualify for the maximum federal tax credit of $8,000 toward the incremental cost of the CNG system for dedicated CNG vehicles in their weight class.
Additionally, Baytech has obtained EPA certification for dual fuel (CNG or gasoline) versions of the 2010 pickups that are available in states that do not require CARB certification.
"With these newly certified CNG systems Baytech continues its long track record of providing a large portfolio of extremely clean, high performance CNG vehicles and engines to customers in all 50 states" says Richard Turner, Baytech's Vice President.
Baytech CNG systems incorporate Baytech's gaseous fuel sequential Multi-Point Fuel Injection system technology. Baytech's CNG engine calibration software is fully integrated with the vehicle control system to achieve high performance, low emissions, and compatibility with onboard diagnostics functions.
