ZeroTruck Production Is Gearing Up
LOS ANGELES – Electrorides Inc. of Laguna Niguel, Calif., is setting up production to roll out this fall a fully electric zero emission medium-duty truck branded ZeroTruck.
LOS ANGELES – Electrorides Inc. of Laguna Niguel, Calif., is setting up production to roll out this fall a fully electric zero emission medium-duty truck branded ZeroTruck. Electrorides Inc. is a company focusing on emerging alternative fuel technologies and electric vehicles. The ZeroTruck is displayed with an SE Inc. utility body ideal for fleet maintenance.
Designed for eliminating emissions and creating energy independence, the ZeroTruck offered in low-cab-forward design will carry the latest in electric drive technology. Based on the industry leading medium-duty Isuzu truck, features include EIG lithium polymer battery pack, high efficiency UQM electric motor, fully automated transmission, 80-mile range with full highway capability, on-board charger, and regenerative braking system. Electrorides has an exclusive agreement with Boshart Engineering of Ontario, Calif., to engineer the ZeroTruck. Distribution has been established through South Bay Truck Center of the Velocity Vehicle Group (LA Freightliner) of Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona, with 10 locations to serve these markets.
The ZeroTruck will be the first electric truck in its class to be offered in the United States in 2008. Sales will commence in late 2008. Electrorides Inc. created the ZeroTruck to offer a solution to fleet operators looking to control their fuel costs and reduce emissions. The ZeroTruck engineered in the United States with the latest technology partners available makes it a very empowering business tool.
