MINNEAPOLIS — XRS Corporation (formerly Xata Corporation), the leader in mobile fleet optimization software, announced that the company’s board of directors has promoted and appointed Christian Schenk to senior vice president, product strategy & market growth, and a member of the company’s executive committee, effective immediately. Previously, Schenk was vice president, product marketing & market development.
“Since joining XRS two years ago, Christian has been a significant force in building our product marketing, product management, lead generation, partnerships and carrier strategy,” said Jay Coughlan, XRS president and chief executive officer. “His leadership skills, passion, energy, product knowledge and knowledge of both the transportation and wireless industries all were important factors in his promotion.”
In his new role, Schenk will have responsibility for the company’s product roadmap, product marketing, lead generation, inside sales, partnerships, channel marketing and sales enablement.
Before joining XRS, Schenk spent many years in the fleet technology and wireless industries as owner of ELCON Systems, a leading producer of toll collection solutions for the North American and European commercial transportation markets, and as the co-founder of SelectComm Communications, one of North America's largest wireless distributors, which went public in 2008. Schenk was instrumental in the company receiving the Top 100 Fastest Growing Company award for four consecutive years. The convergence of these backgrounds gives Schenk great knowledge and insight when crafting the direction and execution for XRS’ products.
Schenk is known in the industry for his extensive knowledge and in-depth, hands-on experience in mobile technology, process management, business development and transportation logistics. He is an active member of many trucking-related associations, including the American Trucking Association, the National Private Truck Council and the International Foodservice Distributors Association. He also sits on several industry advisory panels and advisory committees including the CTIA Alumni and Telematics Americas.
