The Board of Directors of Work Truck Solutions, Inc., announced the appointment of David Thawley as an independent director of the firm, effective immediately. Thawley is currently CEO of Derive Systems, a technology company that connects vehicles and their engines to the digital world, enabling people to better control and optimize the way vehicles behave. Derive's technology is deployed on more than 2 million vehicles.
Kathryn Schifferle, CEO and founder of Work Truck Solutions, explained that Thawley's experience in technology, data analysis, and the automotive industry makes him a valuable board member for her fast-growing company.
"Dave is an accomplished innovator and an experienced board member," Schifferle said. "We are very confident that he will add great value to our Board of Directors and that Work Truck Solutions will benefit from his insights, judgment, and connections."
In addition to serving as CEO of Derive, Thawley has served in various other leadership roles during his 15-plus-year career, including as a Captain in the Air Force, a strategic consultant for Bain & Company, Head of EBay Motors Automotive Parts and Accessories vertical, and co-founder and Chair of TestDrive, a mobile software solution provider to automotive dealerships.
"Joining the Work Truck Solutions board is a great opportunity to support an innovative company that is bringing powerful software, data, and analytic solutions to the commercial vehicle industry. I aim to provide insights and best practices from experiences in adjacent auto retailing and e-commerce auto parts industries," Thawley explained.
