The overall theme for Volvo Trucks at IAA Transportation for Commercial Vehicles, taking place Sept. 20-25 in Hanover, is “Towards Zero” – zero emissions and zero accidents.
Volvo Trucks will showcase its electric truck range with three heavy-duty and two medium-duty truck models available for order in Europe. The company will also show its offering of services for electric trucks, such as range and route planning, charging solutions, and financing. Moreover, Volvo will demonstrate other driveline solutions that are enabling haulers to make solid progress on their journey towards zero emissions.
“Together with our customers and their customers we are on a journey towards zero emissions," said Roger Alm, president of Volvo Trucks. "We look forward to showing our great trucks and services that enable haulers to reduce CO2 while at the same time running a competitive business. Whatever driveline – electric, gas-powered or conventional diesel truck – we offer solutions for increased energy efficiency and a reduced climate footprint."
In the field of safety, Volvo Trucks will, among other things, display its new safety system to help protect pedestrians and cyclists. The system involves a dual radar on each side of the truck as well as camera supported features.
Volvo Trucks will have several trucks available for test driving in the outside area of the exhibition, such as the Volvo FL Electric and Volvo FE Electric. In addition, other trucks like the Volvo FH with I-Save, Volvo FM LNG, and a Volvo FH16 for the heaviest transport assignments will also be displayed in the outside exhibition area.
