Last year, Cintas Corporation partnered with Carhartt, a global manufacturer of quality workwear, to offer Carhartt garments for the first time in a uniform rental program. The Carhartt Rental Workwear line has become popular in many industries, but trucking companies in particular are enjoying the uniforms for their professionalism and durability.
"A friend of mine who is also a Cintas client recommended the Carhartt line," says Caroline Laing of Laing Trucking in Bainbridge, New York, whose drivers wear the Carhartt dungaree work pant on the job. "I really appreciate the professional look, and our drivers enjoy the functionality, so it's a win-win."
Cintas uniform rental programs include garment laundering, repair and replacement benefits. That convenience, combined with Carhartt's unparalleled reputation for quality and durability, offers a great benefit that companies can make available to their employees, which increases employee morale while exuding a professional company image.
"Our mechanics got tired of throwing away their clothes, and our employees hated washing filthy uniforms at home," says Donna Dwyer of Gerster Sons, Inc. in White Plains, New York. "The rental program eliminates that stress and increases morale. Our customers love the professional, unified look."
When asked to rate the characteristics of the Carhartt Rental Workwear line, trucking companies ranked both durability and professionalism highest on the charts.
"Our employees view the availability of Carhartt as a perk," says Debby Justice of Bely Trucking in Spartanburg, South Carolina. "The Carhartt Work Shirts give them a neat, clean look, so we can maintain a professional appearance, which is extremely important."
The Carhartt Rental Workwear line includes a Work Shirt available in blue and sandstone, a Carpenter Jean, a 5-Pocket Work Jean and a Dungaree Pant available in navy and duck brown.
"Our employees weren't interested in uniforms until the Carhartt line came along," adds Dwyer. "But it's been a great experience. I would refer anyone to Cintas."
