CARPINTERIA, CA – The Truck Marketing Institute (TMI) has developed a five lesson correspondence course, LT-2: Light Truck Essentials; the general version addresses the needs of the light commercial and fleet markets. Priced at $360 per student, the LT-2 General course is the newest in the Precision Truck Training series of distance-education courses in truck selection and application. TMI courses provide training on two levels: generic coverage of fundamental truck knowledge, coupled with product application exercises.
LT-2: Light Truck Essentials was developed around a generic product line providing broad spectrum knowledge for truck fleet decision makers. Topics and examples utilize a TMI-created Shadow line of SUVs, crossovers, pickups, light- and medium-duty chassis-cabs. These TMI Shadows fully represent the current mix of Class 1-5 trucks sold in North America. The product familiarity can transfer to specific makes, while providing knowledge beyond a single brand focus.
With the endorsements of major truck makers, TMI offers a full range of Precision Truck Training courses including make-specific light, medium- and heavy-duty courses tailored to the make. Non make specific or “General” versions of the Class 5-7 or Class 8 product training are used extensively by fleet and leasing personnel for advanced training in truck or tractor applications.
Graduates complete written tests using the TMI textbook and appropriate product data. Tests are mailed or faxed to TMI for individual grading by the instructor. Printed textbooks are included with all enrollments, with an eBook option for most, including the new LT-2 course.
