Transervice Logistics Inc., a provider of customized transportation solutions, launched a “food fight” between its Lake Success, N.Y., Corporate office and Des Plaines, Ill., Midwest Regional Office to collect food for the needy.
One of many community outreach programs slated for the company’s 50th Anniversary year, the drive collected 2,085 pounds of food for Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies to collect non-perishable food items, and deliver them to food banks all across North America. The Transervice donation will be used to provide a total of 1,740 meals.
The winning Midwest Regional Office, which earned a complimentary pizza party from its gracious opponent, brought in 1,356 pounds of food from their customers, friends, families, and local businesses, “besting” the Corporate office collection of 729 pounds.
"Transervice was honored to team up with Move For Hunger for this great event,” said Sean Schnipper, Marketing and Social Media Manager. “It brought together two of our offices that share the enjoyment of helping others in true Transervice fashion. We have enjoyed our partnership with Move For Hunger on other events such as the Long Island Truck Pull and will continue to work together to end the fight against hunger."
