Terex is recalling certain 2015-2018 Terex C4000, C5000, C6000, and General digger derricks. The welds between the coupler and hex shaft on these units may be undersized, causing them to fail and the auger to fall unexpectedly. A potential 101 units are affected by this recall.

A component used to attach the auger to the auger drive, the Kelly bar, was fabricated with an underside weld that may show cracks around the face of the weld before a complete failure occurs.

Terex will notify owners, and dealers with either repair the weld or replace the affected component, free of charge.
