Shane McDermott, vice president of SWP’s Vehicle Division, has been voted in and is now a member of the Board for NTEA – The Association for the Work Truck Industry.
Following the January voting by members across the country, McDermott was selected as a distributor trustee. The distributor trustees are elected for three-year terms and lead the organization’s direction and activities.
As a trustee, McDermott will seek to raise the visibility of the work truck industry nationally and grow recruitment of the younger generation.
Shane has decades of experience in the work truck industry and leading the specialized lube and mechanics truck division at Southwest Products, from which he will draw on as a board member. He has been an NTEA member for many years and early in his career was a member of NTEA’s Young Executives Network (now known as Generation Next).
“Shane’s leadership experience at SWP and in the work truck industry makes him a valuable addition to the NTEA board,” said Dan Roush, general manager of Southwest Products. “His knowledge will certainly help the work truck industry make great strides.”
At Southwest Products, McDermott heads the vehicle division which supplies a full range of custom and stock fuel and lube trucks as well as a leading distributor of IMT mechanics trucks for use in construction, agriculture, fleet servicing, mining, and industrial applications. SWP’s service vehicles are designed to power maintenance success on today’s harshest job sites.
