MIDDLESEX, U.K.- Autocar’s original classroom on wheels has been an unqualified success. In
2007, it provided training to more than 800 technicians in over 300 locations,
from New England to the West Coast. Beginning
this spring, Autocar will add a second training trailer to help keep up with
demand.
“The
original trailer was a new concept for the waste industry,” said Trevor
Bridges, Autocar vice president of quality and service support. “The idea was
to make it easier and less expensive for people to be well trained by taking
the instruction to them. It’s been a big hit, not only because of the
convenience, but also because we tailor our training to meet specific customer
needs.”
The new trailer
is slightly larger and roomier than the original, and will provide the same
capability to instruct waste industry technicians in a full range of Autocar
truck diagnostics. The front of the trailer is a classroom that can accommodate
around a dozen trainees at a time. The back of the trailer holds a complete
Autocar cab assembly for diagnostics training, as well as trouble-shooting
boards for specialty areas such as pneumatic systems.
To
request training, go to www.autocartruck.com, and select Training on the
homepage. The training trailer typically needs to be booked 90 days in advance.
Also, Autocar
recently released a new brochure with an A-to-Z overview of Xpeditor features
and capabilities. The brochure includes details about Autocar’s updated ACX cab
and industry-leading 2007 engines, as well as training and turning radius
details. Read it online at www.autocartruck.com, or ask your Autocar
representative for a printed copy.
