SAN DIEGO, CA — Qualcomm Incorporated, a provider of integrated wireless systems, applications and services to transportation and logistics companies, and InstallerNet Inc., a provider of technology-based intelligent service solutions focused on the electronics installation market, announced a strategic installation program to make it easier for commercial fleets to adopt Qualcomm’s Mobile Computing Platform 50 (MCP50). Private and for-hire fleets across the U.S. can now take advantage of InstallerNet’s Nationwide Fleet Installation Program developed specifically for fleets adopting the MCP50.

This collaboration between Qualcomm and InstallerNet adds an estimated 1,100 fleet installation technicians to significantly expand the footprint of Qualcomm’s existing coverage, offering fleets broad access to local installation and service resources and minimizing burdensome travel expenses to ultimately offer customers a more cost-efficient and convenient installation option for the MCP50.

“With more than 150 private and for-hire fleets of all sizes already committed to adopting the MCP50, we are ensuring fleets have affordable and convenient installation options to make it as easy as possible to take advantage of the safety, compliance and productivity benefits of this new platform,” said Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “By teaming up with InstallerNet, we can now offer our customers access to a nationwide network of highly-trained and certified service providers to quickly and cost-effectively install the MCP50 on their trucks, wherever they may be.”

By leveraging the combination of InstallerNet’s network of professional fleet installers and its IT platform and project management staff, Qualcomm now offers a combination of scalability for large fleet customers along with a flexible installation option to reduce costs for smaller fleet customers, according to the company.

Bill Erdman, InstallerNet’s COO, commented, “By combining the value of our nationwide installation solution and network of experts with Qualcomm’s industry-proven integrated mobile fleet management solutions, we introduce new agility to the marketplace and, together, we can deliver maximum flexibility—at an affordable price—to fleets of all sizes.”
