MILTON, ONTARIO – PHH Arval, a leader in fleet management services in Canada and the United States, hosted the 2011 Fleet Management Symposium and Ride and Drive event on June 30 in Milton, Ontario.
Attendees test-drove some of the industry’s newest vehicles, including 2012 model year previews. Over 75 new cars and light-duty trucks from a variety of manufacturers were available to test drive. This year’s Ride and Drive featured an exhibit of electric vehicles, including the Chevy Volt, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Nissan Leaf and the smart fortwo electric drive. Clients were also able to see a variety of medium and heavy-dutytrucks configured for various fleet purposes.
“We are always pleased when we can provide value to our clients through hands-on demonstrations and industry-leading insights,” said Jim Halliday, President of PHH Canada. “The interactive nature of both the Fleet Management Symposium and Outdoor Fleet Fair, which includes the Ride and Drive, supplier exhibits, vehicle demonstrations and other activities, has proven to be invaluable in the decision-making process.”
The symposium on fleet management featured a keynote speech by Benjamin Tal, Managing Director and Deputy Chief Economist, CIBC World Markets Inc., who shared his insights on economic developments and their implications for the fleet industry. Additionally, a panel discussion took place around the topic of reducing cost and risk in a fleet, and fuel and used vehicle updates were also presented by PHH experts.
Following the symposium, as part of the Outdoor Fleet Fair, the Center for Transportation Safety, a PHH company, provided hands-on demonstrations of its driver training capabilities including simulator, skid vehicle and evasive maneuver training exercises.
