AMELIA ISLAND, FL – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA), will introduce a new Class 3 medium-duty truck to the U.S. market for the first time since 2005. Sporting a new, advanced OBD II system, the model, designated the FE125, will carry the Mitsubishi Fuso exclusive 3-4-5 limited warranty package, which includes a limited three-year/unlimited-mileage bumper-to-bumper warranty, limited four-year rust-through warranty, and limited five-year/175,000-mile powertrain warranty.
The new FE125 will offer a GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of 12,500 lb., a standard Aisin six-speed automatic transmission, cruise control, keyless entry, a programmable PTO, and On-Off switchable exhaust brake. The truck will be available in three wheelbases, 114.6 in., 134.3 in., and 152.4 in. All have a straight-channel, 33.1” wide frame.
The FE125 will be powered by the Mitsubishi 4M50 dual-overhead-cam, 4.9L (299 cu. in.) turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine, producing 185 hp @2,700 rpm and 391 lb.-ft. of torque @ 1600 rpm. Brakes are power-assisted, hydraulic dual-caliper disc types at all four wheels, with ABS standard.
Amenities include power windows and door locks, cloth fabric seats, and ‘wet-arm’ three-speed wipers, and high-visibility halogen headlamps. Noise-reducing high-mount air intake snorkel, tilt/telescoping steering wheel adjustment, a fully adjustable driver’s seat, adjustable driver’s arm rest, and seat back help to improve driver comfort and reduce road fatigue. Seat backs on the assistant and passenger seats also adjust for angle and fold flat to provide a work surface for owner/operators.
