ELKHART, IN - Midway Specialty Vehicles, a provider of customized specialty vehicle conversions, recently completed a project with Cleveland Metroparks for customization of a 170-inch wheelbase extended dual rear wheel Sprinter. The vehicle, underwritten by PNC, will be used by Cleveland Metroparks as a teaching mobile outreach vehicle for preschoolers in the Cleveland area. With an emphasis on nature, classes will be taught in an outdoor setting with children sitting at tables under an electric-operated retractable awning.
While enjoying the outdoors, the children will be able to watch interesting and educational videos from a large-screen 50-inch monitor that sits above high-powered speakers located at the side cargo door entranceway. Located inside the van are electrical devices including auxiliary batteries, a 5000-watt pure sine wave inverter, a charger, four 110-volt outlets, a shoreline, power distribution and system control panels, and a public address system for the speakers, Additionally, the interior includes captain chairs, a 4-inch work station, a remote-controlled roof vent, and locking storage cabinets and overhead storage compartments. A rear aluminum folding ramp provides easy access for large parcels and automotive grade trim enhances the package.
The highlight of the conversion and an eye catching advertisement for the program is the addition of very bright and colorful full-body decals depicting many fun activities for kids to enjoy outside.
Midway, with over 30 years of experience, offers many types of commercial and specialty conversions on all typos of minivans, full-size vans, Sprinter vans, transit and shuttle vans and buses, and box trucks. Products are marketed nationally and sold to all sizes of clientele from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
