According to the most recent report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the national average cost of diesel fuel for fleets decreased this week, and all five regions reported lower averages.
The national average price of diesel fuel in the U.S. per gallon dropped by more than 5 cents as of Jan 27, 2025. The average price of $3.66 is 21 cents cheaper than at the same time last year.
Regional average prices decreased this week in every region. The decreases ranged from 1 1/2 cents in the East Coast region to nearly 8 cents in the Gulf Coast region.
The most expensive place to buy diesel is Hawaii, at $5.32 per gallon, and the least costly is Oklahoma, at $3.15 per gallon.
