Hybrid Trucks Showcased at Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON – CALSTART, the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF), Duke University, Environmental Defense Fund, and U.S. truck and system manufacturers will head to Capitol Hill June 11 for "Hybrid on The Hill Day".
WASHINGTON – CALSTART, the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF), Duke University, Environmental Defense Fund, and U.S. truck and system manufacturers will head to Capitol Hill June 11 for "Hybrid on The Hill Day". The one-day event will include an all-day technology showcase of 17 medium- and heavy-duty hybrids, plus a briefing on the status of hybrid technology.
The event is hosted by CALSTART and HTUF Incentive Working Group companies: ArvinMeritor, Azure Dynamics, Bosch Rexroth, Daimler, Dueco/Odyne, Eaton, FedEx Express, Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack, Peterbilt, and Navistar.
The briefing will outline the hybrid truck industry status, its benefits in reducing emissions, cutting fuel use, creating high tech jobs, and ingredients for success. Duke University will unveil a report on the growth and value of the hybrid truck sector.
Trucks will be on display from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with speeches from 11 a.m. to noon.
"Hybrid on The Hill Day" will take place at the Capitol Reflecting Pool, 3rd St. SW between Madison and Jefferson in Washington, D.C.
