NOVI, MI - Hino Trucks announced the appointment of Robert (Bob) E. McDowell as senior vice president, sales & customer support. He succeeds Dominick (Nick) Vermet who will return to a position with a stakeholder of Hino Trucks.
McDowell brings an extensive experience from the industry to his new position, effective September 21. He will report directly to Sumio Fukaya, president & CEO.
McDowell brings to Hino Trucks a wealth of knowledge and experience in the medium-duty truck market from his previous employment with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc., where during his 23 years with the company, progressed through various key field and corporate positions to become president & CEO.
Prior employments include IVECO Truck of North America. As Senior Vice President of Sales & Customer Support, McDowell will oversee the company's sales, parts and service efforts in the market to increase the overall presence in the U.S. for Hino Trucks.
"Hino Trucks appreciates Nick's contribution over the past four years in leading the sales and service organization and we wish him the best in his new role," said Fukaya. "We welcome Bob to Hino Trucks and look forward to working with him as part of our team. The tremendous experience in the industry he will bring to the organization will be a great asset."
He also added "Although market conditions have been very challenging in our sector, with the announcement of our 2010 EPA compliant trucks, Hino Trucks is poised to continue its growth and become a larger player in the industry."
