GE Capital Fleet Services will begin offering a telematics service designed to allow fleet managers to track trailers, forklifts, generators, and other equipment, the fleet management company has announced.
GE Monitor Asset Tracking allows real-time tracking of powered and non-powered assets. Under the new service, GE Capital Fleet Services would install battery-operated hardware to the equipment that pings a mobile device. Fleet managers can then view and manage the equipment activity using color-coded maps via a digital user interface.

Users of the service can set up custom notifications to track movement of the equipment for inventory and security purposes. Fleet managers can also analyze data to identify idle and low-equipment utilization to lower costs and increase productivity.
"It's important that we continue to provide our customers with the tools needed to successfully manage their fleets and make informed improvements," said Mike Mrosko, telematics product leader at GE Capital Fleet Services. "By utilizing GE Monitor Asset Tracking, users can optimize the performance of their entire fleet and equipment assets using just one application."
GE Capital Fleet Services customers also now have access to GE Monitor Connect and Fuel Guard Reports. GE Monitor Connect integrates a Garmin navigation device with telematics to perform mobile dispatching and communications with fleet drivers. With Fuel Guard Reports, customers can track the location of fuel cards and identify fuel fraud by combining fuel transaction data and telematics location data.
