Ford Records Best Van Sales Month in 14 Years
Ford sold more vans in January than any other January since 2001 on the strength of its new 2015 Transit full-size van and redesigned Transit Connect compact van, Ford announced.

Ford sold more vans in January than any other January since 2001 on the strength of its new 2015 Transit full-size van and redesigned Transit Connect compact van, Ford announced.
In January, Ford sold 13,777 vans, a number that also includes E-Series vans and cutaways. The Transit remained the top-selling full-size van for the third consecutive month in January, according to Ford.
Ford also increased Transit Connect sales by 72 percent compared to a year ago with 3,689 of those vehicles. Ford included the cargo and passenger versions in its numbers.
Ford is also reporting strong sales of its 2015 F-150 aluminum pickup, which is averaging 12 days on dealer lots, according to Ford. The Platinum and King Ranch F-150 models are averaging nine and 10 days on dealer lots.
Ford also increased sales of its Escape compact SUV by 3 percent. The Escape had its best January since 2005 with 14,995 units sold. Fleets added 65,918 Escape SUVs in 2013, including 31,434 to commercial fleets.
