Adding Zero Emissions Trucks in California

United Natural Foods is advancing toward a zero-emissions future by introducing two battery-electric semi-trucks and five regenerative electric refrigerated trailers in the Sacramento and Gilroy, California markets.

Teaming up with Penske Truck Leasing, UNFI secured class-8 electric trucks — Freightliner eCascadia and Volvo VNR Electric models — equipped for safety and driver comfort.

Paired with Carrier's Vecto eCool transport refrigeration unit, powered by ConMet eMobility’s in-wheel electric motor, these eco-friendly vehicles aim to maintain cold deliveries with zero emissions during the peak holiday season.

JohnDow Industries unveiled its latest EV & Hybrid Service & Safety Products line.

Featuring 30 cutting-edge safety items such as gloves, face shields, aprons, blankets, insulated tools, jackets, and boots, this collection is meticulously crafted to enhance safety measures during the servicing of electric and hybrid vehicles.

More Than 1,800 Tons in Total Carbon Emissions

Balford Farms, renowned for its high-quality food distribution and Rosenberger’s dairy brand, has added Orange EV terminal truck to its fleet through a lease with Penske Truck Leasing.

Committed to sustainability, the electric truck will support the company's bustling 24/7 warehouse and distribution center, making it one of the first electric trucks in the Mid-Atlantic and reducing Balford's carbon footprint by over 15 tons annually.

Balford's broader environmental efforts, spanning a decade and including solar panels, LED lighting, waste recycling partnerships, and electric vehicle chargers, contribute to an impressive annual reduction of more than 1,800 tons in total carbon emissions.

Rapid-Charging EVs at a More Cost-Effective Rate

Ionic Mineral Technologies, a U.S. producer of advanced nano-silicon battery anode technology, celebrated the opening of its new production facility, technical center, and headquarters in Provo, Utah.

The facility is dedicated to advancing EV and lithium-ion battery solutions.

Ionic MT emphasized that its Ionisil product technology is not merely addressing material supply gaps but is a significant material innovation providing U.S. EV manufacturers a competitive edge in achieving high-performance, rapid-charging EVs at a more cost-effective rate.
