The City of Colwood is the first municipality on Vancouver Island to integrate a RIZON all-electric medium-duty truck into its fleet.
The Class 4 RIZON e16M, equipped with a dump body, will be used by the city’s wellness and public works services. The addition supports Colwood’s efforts to reduce emissions while maintaining performance for daily operations.
The delivery also marks a growing presence for RIZON in Canada, with recent fleet handovers in Vancouver and Quebec.
Supporting Canada's Net-Zero Goals
RIZON officially launched in Canada in 2024, aligning with the federal government’s goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. The company’s electric trucks are eligible for Canada’s Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles (iMHZEV) program, offering up to $75,000 off at the point of sale.
In British Columbia, fleets may qualify for additional provincial incentives, potentially doubling that support.
National Dealer Network Expanding
RIZON trucks are distributed in Canada through RIZON Truck Canada, a subsidiary of Velocity Vehicle Group. The brand operates nine dealership locations in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, with plans to grow its footprint.
RIZON is the ninth commercial vehicle brand under Daimler Truck and was first introduced at the 2023 Advanced Clean Transportation Expo. The Class 4-5 medium-duty battery-electric trucks range from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds gross vehicle weight and offer a driving range of up to 257 kilometers per charge, depending on configuration. They support both Level 2 AC and DC fast charging.
